question_mark

How do I know if the mushrooms extracts I'm taking are working or not?

Medicinal mushrooms are adaptogenic, delivering results over extended periods. While some individuals report improved wellness after just a few doses, the true potential of these mushrooms unfolds with consistent, long-term use.

question_mark

Are your products a mushroom powder or an extract?

We only sell concentrated mushroom extracts. While mushroom powders surpass MOG (mycelium on grain) powders, they're still less potent than concentrated extracts. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbal tea, a simple hot water extract, has been the practice for centuries to maximize medicinal benefits. Hot water extraction is a highly effective method to concentrate and enhance the bioavailability of mushrooms. Unlike steam extraction, it unlocks vital medicinal compounds.

For mushrooms like Reishi or Chaga with non-water-soluble triterpenoids, a combination of alcohol and water extraction is employed. At Earth's Mushrooms, we prioritize these methods to ensure the utmost potency and bioavailability in our products.

question_mark

What does "Fruiting Body Only" mean?

"Fruiting body only" in mushroom extracts refers to the extraction of compounds exclusively from the above-ground reproductive part of the mushroom, which is the cap and stem you typically see.

This term signifies that no other parts of the mushroom, such as the mycelium (the underground root-like structure) or the substrate (the material the mushroom grows on, often grain), are included in the extract.

Fruiting bodies are generally considered to contain a higher concentration of beneficial compounds, such as beta-glucans and other bioactive constituents, compared to mycelium-based extracts.

At Earth's Mushrooms we only use the "Fruiting body" of the mushroom for all our products to ensure a higher quality and more potent extract.

question_mark

Are your mushrooms organic?

Yes! The mushroom extracts utilized in all our mushroom supplements are cultivated in open-air, organic-certified and USDA organic farms.

question_mark

Why do you use mushrooms and not mycelium?

Distinguishing mushrooms from mycelium is crucial. While mushrooms are the potent 'fruit' stage, mycelium represents the root system of fungi.

Mushrooms are abundant in vital compounds, such as beta-glucans, backed by extensive research and millennia of consumption. Mycelium, often grown on grain, blends with it, resulting in high starch content and minimal active compounds like beta-glucans.

At Earth's Mushrooms, we exclusively use verified mushroom sources in all our products, ensuring optimal levels of essential compounds like beta-glucans, and safeguarding against starchy fillers like grain.

question_mark

What are your mushrooms grown on?

Our medicinal mushrooms are grown using sawdust. Mushrooms excel in repurposing waste materials, making the utilization of sawdust an excellent example. Instead of being discarded or burned, the sawdust is repurposed for cultivating mushrooms.

Reishi is an exception, it is cultivated on individual hardwood logs planted in the ground.

And Chaga is wild harvested.

question_mark

Where are your mushrooms harvested from?

We source our mushrooms from certified organic farms in the north western United States, British Columbia, Canada, and China. These regions provide optimal growing conditions, ensuring the highest quality and potency in our products. Each batch undergoes rigorous third-party testing to verify purity and active compound levels. This commitment to quality ensures that our supplements deliver the intended health benefits.

question_mark

Do you have your own mushroom farm?

Our mushroom extracts are sourced from trusted sources in the north western United States, British Columbia, Canada and China. They undergo stringent quality testing to ensure their purity and potency. Once these extracts meet our high standards, all formulating, blending, packaging, labeling, and shipping processes are meticulously carried out in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

There is 3 calories in a 1g or 1000mg serving.

question_mark

Feel free to keep it in your kitchen or cupboard. Just remember to store it in a location away from excessive heat and direct light. You can keep your mushrooms in the fridge.

question_mark

Can you take medicinal mushrooms while pregnant or breastfeeding?

While many functional mushrooms offer health benefits, it's crucial to prioritize safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Health Canada advises consulting a healthcare professional before using any functional mushrooms during these times, except for Reishi, Shiitake, and Maitake mushrooms.

This cautionary statement stems from limited clinical research on the effects of functional mushrooms while pregnant or breastfeeding, as conducting trials in this population is considered unethical.

Therefore, always discuss the use of any functional mushrooms with your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or considering becoming pregnant.

They can provide personalized advice based on your specific situation.

question_mark

Can I give mushroom extracts to my children?

Functional mushrooms for kids can be a bit tricky! We totally get why many parents want to give their children the adaptogenic and health-boosting benefits of these amazing mushrooms.

However, Health Canada's Mushroom Monograph doesn't have any guidelines for kids just yet. Right now, they don't recommend mushroom products for anyone under 18.

Since we can't provide specific dosages for little ones, and because the science around concentrated mushroom extracts for children is still evolving, we can't provide guidance.

It's also best to chat with your healthcare provider that understand medicinal mushrooms before adding any new supplements to your child's routine.

We also recommend you do your own research around this topic for the mushrooms in our products: Reishi, Chaga, Cordyceps, Lion's Mane and Turkey Tail and their uses for children because the government medical bodies aren't always up with the times and not necessarily right. They just make the rules.

question_mark

Can I give mushroom to my pets?

Yes! We always recommend to consult with your holistic veterinarian.
